Why EU membership is the real dividing line
Unlike Korea or the Gulf, where a specific passport list decides access, Spain's constraint is structural: EU citizens can live and work there freely, while everyone else needs a specific visa category. This applies whether you're American, Nigerian, Filipino, Indian or any other non-EU nationality equally — it's not about a preferred passport list, it's about EU membership itself.
This means the barrier is the same regardless of which non-EU country you're from, though document requirements (like background checks) vary by home country.
