Language centres vs international schools
The UAE education market splits sharply in two. Private language centres, corporate English training providers and some tutoring platforms often accept a Level 5 (120-hour) accredited TEFL alongside a bachelor's degree, similar to language-school hiring elsewhere.
UAE international schools are a different market entirely — most require a recognised teaching licence, PGCE, or equivalent qualified-teacher status, plus subject-specific degrees for many roles. A TEFL certificate alone typically will not qualify you for these licensed school positions, regardless of how many hours it covers.
